What we do
As you answer plain-English questions, Virdix determines whether your case fits the joint simplified dissolution track (Form 12.901(a)) or the standard petition (the 12.901(b) series), then fills out the official Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure forms from your answers. Starting is free: you see every form your case needs, and previews of your completed documents, before you pay anything.

Not yet. Virdix's Florida coverage today is uncontested divorce: both spouses agree on the terms, whether or not you have children, plus the joint simplified dissolution track. If your Florida case is contested, or involves custody, parentage, or a domestic violence restraining order on its own, those aren't part of Virdix's Florida coverage yet. Florida's own self-help resources, linked from our Florida divorce law overview, or a Florida attorney are the right next step. Virdix is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
You can still use Virdix if you both agree on custody, support, and the rest of the terms. Florida's Petition for Dissolution of Marriage with Dependent or Minor Child(ren) (Form 12.901(b)(1)) is the petition for that situation, and any case involving minor children also requires both parents to complete Florida's Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course before final judgment.
Florida's fastest uncontested track (Form 12.901(a)), available when both spouses agree the marriage is over, have no minor or dependent children together, have already divided their assets and debts, aren't seeking alimony, and are willing to skip trial and appeal and attend one final hearing together. If any one of those isn't true, Virdix prepares the standard petition instead.
Florida's statewide circuit court filing fee for a dissolution of marriage is $295, paid directly to the court, not to Virdix (Fla. Stat. § 28.241). A fee waiver, the Application for Determination of Civil Indigent Status, is available if you qualify. Starting your case with Virdix is free, and the first page of every document is free to see as it fills in. A one time payment of $79 (regularly $349) unlocks your final court-ready packet when you're ready to file.
California is Virdix's original and most complete state: contested and uncontested divorce, custody, child support, parentage, and domestic violence restraining orders across all 58 counties. Florida is newer on Virdix and currently covers uncontested divorce only. More states and case types are planned.
What Virdix covers in Florida right now: uncontested divorce, whether you have children together or not, plus the joint simplified dissolution track when every eligibility box is checked. Florida contested divorce, custody, parentage, and domestic violence restraining order preparation aren't available yet (in California, Virdix covers all of those today). More states and case types are on the way.

Florida's own courts publish every form for free. The hard part is knowing which petition applies to your situation and filling it out correctly. Virdix handles that part.
Every document Virdix prepares in Florida is the Family Law Rules of Procedure form your circuit court already requires: the Joint Petition for Simplified Dissolution (12.901(a)) or the standard Petition (12.901(b) series), filled out from your answers instead of a blank PDF.
Whether you and your spouse have minor children together or not, Virdix walks you through the matching petition and the paperwork for Florida's required Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course when children are involved.
Florida's joint simplified track requires both spouses to agree on everything: no minor or dependent children, assets and debts already divided, no alimony request, and a willingness to skip trial and appeal. Virdix checks your eligibility and prepares the matching forms.
| Residency | One spouse must have lived in Florida for 6 months immediately before filing, proven with a Florida ID, driver's license, voter registration, or a corroborating witness. |
| Filing fee | $295 statewide, or $0 with an approved fee waiver. |
| Timeline | No mandatory statewide waiting period. In practice, the respondent has 20 days to answer, and cases with minor children need the Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course completed before judgment. |
