What if my spouse and I have children together?+
You can still use Virdix if you both agree on custody, support, and the rest of the terms. Florida's Petition for Dissolution of Marriage with Dependent or Minor Child(ren) (Form 12.901(b)(1)) is the petition for that situation, and any case involving minor children also requires both parents to complete Florida's Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course before final judgment.
What is the joint simplified dissolution?+
Florida's fastest uncontested track (Form 12.901(a)), available when both spouses agree the marriage is over, have no minor or dependent children together, have already divided their assets and debts, aren't seeking alimony, and are willing to skip trial and appeal and attend one final hearing together. If any one of those isn't true, Virdix prepares the standard petition instead.
How much does it cost?+
Florida's statewide circuit court filing fee for a dissolution of marriage is $295, paid directly to the court, not to Virdix (Fla. Stat. § 28.241). A fee waiver, the Application for Determination of Civil Indigent Status, is available if you qualify.
