Virdix opened its California beta in July 2026. These are real, anonymized accounts of how our first users prepared their court paperwork. We share only the county, the case type, and what happened inside the product. No names, no invented quotes, no stock photos. We describe document preparation only: we do not track what happens after download, and we never publish case outcomes.
A parent in Los Angeles County signed up on a Friday afternoon with a contested parentage and custody case, the kind of matter attorneys commonly quote five-figure retainers for. Two hours after creating an account, she downloaded her first completed document.
Over the following week she worked through 21 guided questionnaires and prepared a ten-form filing packet: the petition to establish parental relationship (FL-200), the summons, the UCCJEA declaration, a request for order with the child custody and visitation attachment, a request for emergency orders, and a court fee waiver request, plus the Los Angeles County cover sheet that tells the clerk where the case belongs. Every form was assembled from her own answers, ready to review, print, and file.
A user in Sacramento County created an account just after midnight. Eight minutes later, the first completed document was ready. Within about an hour, after 11 short guided questionnaires, they had downloaded the full joint summary dissolution packet: the FL-700 petition and the FL-710 request for judgment.
Courthouse self-help centers keep business hours. Paperwork panic does not.
A Los Angeles County couple with an uncontested case and no children started on a Saturday afternoon. The first completed document was ready 29 minutes after signup. By that evening, under two hours in, they had the full packet: the FL-700 petition, the FL-710 request for judgment, a marital settlement agreement recording the terms they had already agreed to between themselves, and the county cover sheet. They came back the next day to finish their review, completing 23 guided questionnaires in all.
Not every story is a finished packet yet. Just after 10pm on a Sunday night, a parent in Tulare County facing a contested divorce with children signed up and had the first two documents, the FL-100 petition and the FL-110 summons, completed within 25 minutes. Family law help is not evenly distributed across California. The forms are the same in every county, and so is Virdix.
